Club 80 90 camp meet April 2013
I wager if you are a VW t25 enthusiast you will already know about the Club 80-90 website and forum. A great resource where like minded enthusiastic individuals meet online to discuss everything Wedge related. One thing I have found with T25 / T3 owner is that its all about using the van, not necessarily about polishing it. Yes there were some beautiful examples but if you own a T25 its likely its to use for camping. Just my philosophy too.
Club 80-90 also hold camping events and meets. One of them which is held semi regularly is the rather politically incorrectly named “Pikey Meet”. Held in Leicestershire, its a very cheap nights camping at just £8 a van (not per person). The site has very basic facilities but a shower and bathroom are all most of us need.
We hopped into Vanessa’s van, Priscilla, an 85 Autohomes camper with a 1.9 petrol engine. The van certainly has a aelly well laid out interior and a more spacious configuration than mine. With a hightop roof there is plenty of space.
When you drive into the site you do wonder what you have signed up for. The site seems tired and run down with lots of caravans many of which seem to have been abandoned (I think they are just being stored but some were falling apart). However after a few miles that feeling disappears as you enter the more remote parts of the site.
A little drive into the countryside, we found the gaggle of T25 campervans in a large circle, by a river and peaceful countryside.
As has become tradition, a silly video making something uneventful and relaxing look dramatic.

A great excuse to camp and meet other T25 owners and we really couldn’t have wished to meet a nicer and more welcoming bunch of guys and girls (and dogs). I am looking forward to the next one and meeting everyone again.
Afterwards we spent the afternoon at Stanford Hall, where we enjoyed the sun and I got a lot of ideas for the inside of my van.
